Why Can't Obama Get Over The 49% Mark ?

Didn't J.Kerry even get to 70% in the polls when he ran against Bush? It seems no matter what Obama does he cannot get over the half % in the polls. Could it be because he doesn't support new energy that will help our economy so we have a bridge to alternatives? That is why I especially think he is wrong as a leader. I'm just hoping Palin convinces McCain to drill in Anwar!
