What is the best way to remove ball joint ends on a 1996 Isuzu trooper 4x4 for CV replacement?

loosen nut and leave it on with a few threads. hammer side of ball joint and it should break loose. sometimes you need a pickle fork. i have a pickle fork attatchment for my air hammer that works great.
