Qu'ran: English translations?

I vote for Abdullah Yusuf Ali and Pickthall. They are both literate and as accurate as a translation can be. If you request a translation from the Saudi government, they will send you a free one, based on Yusuf Ali's. Be careful to ask for the edition with the Arabic on one side of the page, the English on the other, and the explanation at the bottom. The explanation makes a big difference!
