I need a very dense, tall fast growing hedge to stop golf from coming into my yard...?

I have a home in Northeast Florida on the backside of a golf practice range and am having a problem with golf continually flying into my yard, some at fast speeds that I fear could hurt somone. I'd like to plant a dense tall hedge instead of asking the golf club to put up an ugly fence. Any ideas about plants that would slow down a fast moving golf ball and grow well in a coastal north Florida, shady environmenst?
